Global marketplace presents opportunities and challenges for managers. It is important for managers to recognize that employees have different ways of living and working. For example, if a company decides to go global and open a new plant in different country, a person who is going to manage this plant has to understand that his new employees would be people from different political, economical and cultural environment. . In order for managers to work effectively and efficiently, they have to be aware of how their decisions and actions will be viewed; they need to adjust their leadership styles and management approaches to accommodate these diverse views. This may include setting up an employee benefit programs that can help employees and their families who are in needs. Case in point is Anna Maria Castillo from Nicaragua.  She is 23 years old, married with a toddler. Anna Maria works as a hostess at a restaurant, and her and her husband’s combined income barely covers her bills. Her family lives in a house with a leaking roof, and the fact that she can not provide her son with a better conditioned house makes her feel emotionally stressed and tired. Certainly with those complications she can not be a productive employee at her work. We decided to help Anna Maria and lend her $50, which is not a big amount of money, but for her and her family it can make a huge difference because with the loan she can improve the living conditions at her house.
